The Eden Project only 6 miles; Lost Gardens of Heligan and the National Trust Lanhydrock House & Gardens are all within easy reach. Fowey Harbour is closeby, where the famous Daphne Du Maurier Festival takes place in early May.

Boconnoc House and its surrounding estate is a popular venue for weddings and is also the venue for the Cornwall Garden Society Cornwall Spring Flower Show takes place on 1oth and 11th April 2010.

A twenty minute walk from the house wiil take you to the ancient church of St Winnow - a tiny riverside hamlet on the Fowey estuary. From here, a path leads from the Church through the National Trust's Ethy Wood to the picturesque village of Lerryn. It is said to have some of the loveliest river scenery in Cornwall.

The sandy beaches on the south coast of Lantic Bay and Lansallos are about 20 minutes drive

There are also two 18 hole golf courses, Lanhydrock Hotel & Golf Club and close by.

In recent years, Lostwithiel, a charming historic town in its own right, has become "the antiques capital of Cornwall".

Further afield the delights of the new Falmouth Maritime Museum and the Tate Gallery of St Ives beckon.
